Rosalie Cecelia (Wilson) Steverson was born on September 1, 1932, in Issue, MD. She was one of six children born to Bernard and Mary "Louise" (Short) Wilson. Rosalie graduated from Bel Alton High School in Issue, MD and attended Bowie State College. She met the love of her life, Filmor Steverson, and left college to become his wife. They were married in October 1952. They were married for 58 years until Filmor's death in May 2011. Rosalie and Filmor had three children Leroy William (deceased), Marie Ellen (deceased), and Karen Steverson Norwood.
After her marriage, Rosalie worked at a dressmaking factory, until the birth of their first child. Taking care of her family was her priority. In addition to being a homemaker, Rosalie was an entrepre-neur. She ran a small catering/serving business for about 15 years to help with the family finances. Rosalie was very involved in her church and other social organizations until her Alzheimer's rendered her unable to continue her charitable and community work.
Rosalie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind a sister (Hazel), a brother (Bernard), a daughter (Karen), six grandchildren (Bryan, JaLaeh, Tamarra, Katrina, Brandon, and Marques, and eight great-grandchildren (Promise, Destiny, Noah, Jonah, Lillian, Malachi, Aston, and Roman). Rosalie was a very involved grandmother and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.
Rosalie will be missed by her family and friends. We find solace in knowing that her husband, two of her children, and other family and friends will be waiting for her to come home. We love you and miss you every day until we meet again.
