Ruby J. Beverly
Ruby J. Beverly departed this world peacefully on 10-07-2024 at the age of 77. She was a
cherished wife/mother/grandmother/sister/friend whose love, compassion, and kindness touched
the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Ruby J Beverly was born on May 11, 1947 in Washington, DC to Rossie and Mary Foushee. She
was raised in Washington, DC, where she cultivated deep-rooted values of family, friendship,
and service to others. She attended Dunbar High School and pursued a career in Restaurant
Management, where she was known for her dedication, intelligence, and unwavering work ethic.
She married Edward T. Beverly on 06-23-1995, and together they built a life filled with love,
laughter, and unforgettable memories. The two were a part of the founding members of
Watergate Van Club. The two loved to travel with their grandkids to every Van Fest possible.
Ruby J, was the heart and soul of her family, always providing guidance, support, and an endless
supply of love. Her children, Senetra, Samantha, Sharon, and Kenji were the pride and joy of her
life. But we all know the true joy was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-
grandchildren. She was blessed to see 5 generations that she was able to instill values of
compassion, perseverance, and kindness.
She was a person who took great pride in giving back to her community. In her later years, she
was the care provider for her grandchildren. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds,
and she leaves behind a legacy of service and love.
Ruby Joan Beverly is survived by: Her daughters Senetra Porter (Robert), Samantha Cole
(Donald(Div)), Sharon Hair, Kenji Ono Mundy (Tara), 14 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren
and 3 great-great grandchildren, her siblings Alice Battle (Herbert), Susan A.E. Mixon (Freddie
B(D) Wallace), Larry Foushee (Clarice), Michael Foushee (Brenda), David Couch, Gerald
Couch (Robin), a host of cousin, nieces, nephew and close family friends Jean, Gloria Cole,
Janice and Clayton will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She was preceded in death by
Her Parents Rossie and Mary Foushee, Her Husband Edward T Beverly (Eddie), her brother Charles Lucas, daughter Brenda Lampkin and her son-in-love Rodney Covington (Ronnie) her
Granddaughter Takeya Larie Cole, whom she joins in eternal rest.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She may be gone from our
sight, but her love and the lessons she imparted will remain with us always. May she rest in
eternal peace.
