SAMUEL BYRON SMITH of Durham, North Carolina, the son of Sheba Smith
of Durham and Byron and Laurie Smith of Aberdeen, Maryland, entered eternal rest on February 15, 2021, at Duke University Hospital in Durham following a brief illness. Sam was born on June 16, 1987, in Durham, North Carolina. He was a member of White Rock AME Church, Micro, N. C. Sam graduated from Jordan High School in Durham and Durham Technical College. He was employed at Amazon at the time of his death. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Jordan, Seaboard, North Carolina, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private memorial service is planned for a later date.
