Shirley Irene Foye Faison, 79, of Selma, transitioned peacefully on May 10, 2023. She leaves to
cherish her memory, her husband, Robert L. Faison of Selma, North Carolina; four daughters,
Felicia Faison of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Tamerill Faison of Hanover, Maryland, Jacqueline
Faison and Sherry McFadgen (Chris) of Selma, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Robert
Iseah Faison, Brittany Faison, Christin McFadgen, and Christopher McFadgen all of Selma,
North Carolina and Robert Basheam Faison, Tequan Barnes, Antwane Boone, and Yasmine
Boone all of Chesapeake, Virginia; two adopted grandchildren, Glen and Frances Brown, of
Chesapeake, Virginia; three brothers, Roy Lee Foye, Robert Lee Foye, and Rudy Lee Foye
(Regina), all of Selma, North Carolina; two sisters, Alice F. Minter of Bowie, Maryland and
Ophelia T. Armstrong (James) of Greensboro, North Carolina; three brothers-in-law, Terry
Faison (Faye), Tommy Faison, and Joe Faison; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Hopkins of Greenville,
North Carolina, Clara Sims of Kearneysville, West Virginia, Janet Faison of Smithfield, North
Carolina, and Sandra Faison of Clayton, North Carolina; as well as a host of great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy
and Geneva Stancil Foye; her brothers, Edward Foye (Sara) and John Daniel Foye (Leola); and
her sisters, Helen and Doris Foye.
