Sylvester Williams Dublin was born on February 16, 1941, in Smithfield, NC to the late Eva Robinson and James Matthew (Mack) Dublin. He departed this life September 29, 2020.
He was united in Holy matrimony to Geraldine Blackwell in December of 1961. This union was blessed with nine children. Geraldine preceded him in death on November 9, 1996.
Sylvester attended school in Johnston County and later moved to Newark, NJ where he was employed at Krenentz Jewelry store. April of 1978, he relocated back to NC where he was employed by NC Highway Patrol and Johnston County Schools as a Janitor, until his declining health.
He was a hard worker and made sure his family did not lack anything. He was a proud dad who enjoyed singing, fishing, hunting, and listening to music, (Gospel, Country, and Blues).
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Effie Rouse, and brothers, Butch and Sylvester Dublin.
Sylvester leaves to cherish his memory: nine children, Donald Dublin (friend Theresa) of Smithfield, NC, Karen Dublin of Wilson's Mills, NC, Sylvia Williams (Linwood) of Smithfield NC, Sylvester Dublin, Jr. (Francine) of Latta SC, John Dublin (Marla) of Monroe GA, Ruby Dublin of Goldsboro, NC, Gloria Dunn of Baltimore, MD, Sherman Dublin (Sherrie) of Loganville, GA, and Kevin Dublin (friend Katie) of San Francisco, CA; 24 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; two brothers, William Robinson (Melvinia) of High Point, NC and John Robinson (Bonnie) of Garner, NC; one brother-in-law, Cliff Smith (Florence) of Kansas City, MO; a host of nieces and nephews; a very close relative, Ruby Gee of Trenton NJ; a long time friend, Tobe Liles of Smithfield, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
