Tyshawn Malik Benjamin was loved by so many. The chapter in his life began on October 24th, 1996, at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was the 1st born to Veronica Powell & Father Donail Benjamin who preceded him in death. Tyshawn was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, and a friend to many.
The chapter to his book ended on September 13th, 2022, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill South Carolina. A book that was filled with many pages.
Tyshawn, an Academically Gifted Student was not only talented in his studies; his talents started the moment he arrived in this world. He was an artist as he would say. He could draw anything, and he loved to dance even if he was dancing to the beat of his own drum. Tyshawn loved to sing, music was everything to him. His songs told stories. He often said he was writing a book and that he could not wait for everyone to read it. Tyshawn sought out independence early. He was this little kid sneaking away to ride his big wheel. Tyshawn loved his freedom. This young man loved everyone. He had a heart of gold. He would literally give away things he knew he needed for himself, but because of his pure heart, he wanted others who needed to not go without.
Tyshawn really enjoyed school for the most part. He was consistently an A+ student during his studies. He often found himself seeking out extracurricular activities. Tyshawn explored and grew a passion for soccer, playing the saxophone in the school band and various other organizations such as ROTC and Junior Beta Club. He spent most years of his education on the principal's list. He attended Gaston College Preparatory School before transferring to Northwest High School. After Highschool he traveled to several places around the world, where he began his career path in Customer service and administration before ending his time as a Manager for Walmart.
Tyshawn's artistry touched the lives of many people. He painted outside the lines and created his own colors to the rainbow. The world was no match for a young man with a gift of many talents.
