Vincent Ray Faison, Sr. was born on March 8, 1955 in Conway, South Carolina to the late Malachi Franklin Faison and the late Frances Chapman Jones and departed this life on August 16, 2014 at 6:49 P.M.
Vincent was a member of the Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was active in the church choir. In school, he sang in the school chorus and played the cornet in the band. In 1973 Vincent graduated from Conway High School and later joined the United States Army. During his tenure in the military, he served and was honorably discharged as an E5 sergeant. He was awarded numerous awards and honors. He served his country for nearly 10 years in Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Ansbach, Germany; Fort Benning, Georgia; and other places throughout the United States and Europe.
While he was stationed in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, Vincent met and married Jennifer Williamson in 1982. The two were married for over thirty years. He worked at C3 Packaging (formerly Colonial Carton Company) for over 20 years. Vincent was always regarded as a kind, comical, and upbeat person. He enjoyed making those around him smile and laugh.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sherry Faison; and brothers, Ronald and Charles Chapman. Everlasting memories will be shared and cherished by his wife, Jennifer Williamson Faison of Clayton, North Carolina; four children: Jermaine Herriott of New York; Vincent Faison, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina; LaShunda Faison and Keneshia Faison of Clayton, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Quadaja Herriott and Makhiah Leathers; siblings Carl Faison (Joyce) of Conway, South Carolina; Sandra Faison Gowans (Lenwood) of Conway, South Carolina; Gregory Faison of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and Malcolm Faison of Cheraw, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
