Virginia Harris Haskins

Virginia H. Haskins, 94, of 50 Andrew Drive, in Pine Level, NC departed this life on April 4, 2013 at Barbour Court Nursing Center in Smithfield, NC. She lived in North Carolina for some time with her son and family. She was born April 3, 1919 to the late James and Hattie Harris of Chesterfield Court, Virginia. She joined Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Petersburg and served in many capacities in both churches.

Mrs. Haskins retired from Fort Lee after 28 years of service and later joined Foster Grandparents of Petersburg, where she touched the lives of many families and friends during the time she worked there.

Mrs. Haskins was married to the late James T. Haskins and had one son from this marriage.

Surviving are her son, James T. Haskins, Jr. (Jeffie); devoted daughter in law, Grand-daughter Tracey Haskins-Johnson (Eric) of Suitland, MD; Grandson Rodney Haskins, Richmond, Va; two Great Grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, sister in law, Marie Y. Austin of Richmond, Va, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
