Vivian J. Worrell was born on August 20, 1957, to the late Rovert R. Johnston and Mary Jane Smith Johnston. Vivian entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital.
Vivian graduated from Smithfield Selma Senior High School in 1975 and attended Campbell University. She was employed by the Johnston County School System for many years as an administrative assistant, bus driver, and substitute teacher. Not only was she a faculty member, but she was a mentor and inspiration to many children and friends. She was an active participant in the Neuse Little Theatre in Smithfield, NC.
Vivian was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William Headd. She resided at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility in Benson, NC. Vivian loved arts, crafting and jewelry making. She was very good at it and she sold many pieces.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Donald Worrell, her parents, Robert R. Johnson and Mary Jane Smith Johnson, and her brother, Hurbert Earl Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Donald Worrell (Lakeya) of San Antonio, TX and April Worrell of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Tyeshawn and MacKenzie; her brother, Russell Johnson of University Place, WA, Joseph Johnson (Minnie) of Gainesville FL, Mawannah Latten of Charlotte, NC, Lecia J. Neptune of Archdale, NC, Shelia M. Wall (Michael) of Fayetteville, GA, Timothy J. Johnson (Samantha) of Trinity, NC, and Orlando Johnson (Wanda) of Selma, NC. She also leaves a host of nieces, other relatives, and friends.
