Willie Ervin Mcpherson

On Tuesday January 10,2023. God decided to pick a rose, Willie,
for his garden. Willie McPherson Sr. was born on April 15, 1930, in
a Christian and loving home to the late Monroe Sanders and Ozzie
McPherson.
He was educated at Short Journey School. He farmed for many
years, then he started his professional career with Wake County
Public School System. With 30 years of service, he served as a
custodian at Vandora Springs Elem., then transferred and retired
from Aversboro Elem. School as Head custodian. Willie joined
Willow Springs Church at an early age where he served over the
missionary department, as a Deacon, and on the Trustee board until
his health failed. Willie met his wife Della Mae Barbour whom he was
married for over 50 years. Unto this union, they had four loving
children. Gail Ruffin (Deacon William Ruffin Jr.), Janet Bryant
(Ronald), Willie Ervin McPherson (LaMarshel) aka Kookie, Elton Lee
McPherson (AKA "Baby Boy") (Ann).
His cherished siblings Mary Langston, Dorothy Caldwell (James),
Ozzie Brown all of Raleigh N.C., Brother-in-law Troy Lee Barbour
(New Brunswick New Jersey), Clarence McPherson (deceased), Ethel
McCullers (deceased), Jessie Smith (deceased), Eliza Sanders
(deceased), and Ranson Sanders (deceased).
His Loving Grandchildren Jermaine, Jenea', Keesha Ruffin, Corey
Bryant (Diana), Lakita Williams (Boston), Zack McPherson, Nicole
Williams and eleven Great Grandchildren along with a host of nieces
and nephews.
Willie loved spending time with his family telling stories of his life.
He loved N.C. State wolfpack and the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Willie
was well known by many children and staff in Aversboro School as a friendly man in the halls that had an impact, and a smile for days. He
was dedicated to his family, church, and Community. In his spare time he watched Judge Judy, Cops, and 60 minutes, and reading his Bible
daily along with his Daily Newspaper.
