Obituary
Willie James Robinson affectionately known as "Smokey was born on August 23, 1956, to Janie Mae Robinson and Odell Addison. Smokey gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 4:15 am with family surrounding him at the age of 63.
Smokey was born in Sumter SC where he and his family remained until he was 12. The family relocated to Washington DC where Smokey attended Washington DC public schools. After his schooling, Smokey took on various jobs to include working at restaurants, construction, and car lots.
Smokey loved God and throughout his illness, Smokey remained humbled. His smile and laughter were genuine. No matter where you were if Smokey wanted to see you he would surely find a way when it came to spending time with family. Smokey was always concerned about helping in any way he could and if you needed him to do anything you surely didn't have to ask twice, and he never met a stranger. But most of all Smokey loved his children and grandkids. He was sure to call regularly to check up on them.
You could catch Smokey any day hanging out at the shop with his cousin Jody and the rest of the crew having a drink and "Cuttin Up!!"
Smokey will be most remembered by his Awesome Sense of Humor. If you were having a bad day he was sure to have you in stitches before it was over with. Smokey was the family comedian. He loved to sing and dance and had some of the funniest sayings!!! Who Remembers This?

Smokey was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed. Smokey was preceded in death by his parents Ms. Janie Mae Robinson and Mr. Odell Addison. He leaves to cherish Daughter Sheena (William) Coates, Son Willie J (Leva) Robinson Jr and two adorable grandgirls Sofia and Lucia Robinson, 7 aunts Clara, Geneva, Ophelia, Gloria, Jimmie, Virginia, Jan and 2 uncles Nathanial and Leroy and a host of cousins, and many friends.




God Saw You Getting Tired
God saw you getting tired

With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
