Mr. Willie Earl Royal Sr., 84, of Smithfield, NC died on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC

Mr. Willie Earl Royal, Sr., was born on August 10, 1929 in
Sampson County. He was the son of the late Lucile Royal Wilson.
He departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.
Mr. Royal was educated in Short Journey Public School in
Johnston County.
He was owner/operator of Royal Texaco. He was also employed
by the Smithfield Fire Department for 20 years. He was a Gospel
DJ at WBZB in Selma, North Carolina for many years.
Mr. Royal was a Deacon at St. John's Disciples Church for over
60 years. He enjoyed life and making people smile with his
pleasing personality.

York, Carlton Allen (Adrienne) of Smithfield, North Carolina,
Scott Richardson (Karen) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lynn
Richardson of Raleigh, North Carolina; his only wife, Ruby Royal
of Brooklyn, New York; grandchildren, Andrea Dublin, Teneen
Frazier, Latisha Knight, Nikia Wiggins, Willie Royal, Mark
Royal, Cynita Royal, Korren Royal, Charlene Royal, Ebony
Grissetti, Chason Gerald Royal, Jamar Allen, Sentel Allen,
Angie Plummer, Tabitha Lavallias, Courtney R. Richardson,
Shameika Campbell, Merval K. C. Richardson, Alexandria
Freeman, Myritza Deonarine, Shantol Deonarine, Keston
Deonarine, Lauren Deonarine; a host of great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; life long friends,
Annie Richardson and Minnie Bridges and many other loving
relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
